BSI Quik-Cure 5 Minute Epoxy

Quik-Cure 5-Minute Epoxy cures to a slightly flexible consistency. This flexibility helps it form durable bonds in areas exposed to vibration or stress. It is not suitable for applications involving long-term immersion in water, but it performs well in the internal structure of wood-framed boats.

Quik-Cure is the only epoxy in our range compatible with the application of polyester resins. It may also be combined with microballoons to create a quick-setting putty. Bonded items can be handled after just 15 minutes, with full strength achieved within 1 hour.

DIRECTIONS

Quik-Cure 5-Minute Epoxy is a two-part adhesive that cures through a chemical reaction between the resin and hardener to form high-strength bonds. Once cured, it is resistant to most chemicals.

It is the least temperature-sensitive epoxy in our range, curing in temperatures as low as 5°C. Higher temperatures—above 32°C—reduce working time to less than 4 minutes.

For best results, apply to clean, textured surfaces. Smooth or non-porous surfaces should be roughened with coarse sandpaper to enhance adhesion. Use acetone or isopropyl alcohol to clean uncured epoxy.

Thanks to its slight flexibility, Quik-Cure bonds well to a wide range of materials—from balsa wood to glass. It is not suitable for water-immersed applications but can be coated with polyester resin without affecting the resin’s cure.

Full handling strength is reached in under 15 minutes, with full cure in approximately 1 hour.
